Festivals in Tosa City are both traditional and dynamic.
Experience the excitement and passion in person!

    • Big Cauldron Festival

      (Held on May 3rd)
Deeply tied to Tosa City's identity as a port town, this festival is held at a park near the coast. Try the ever popular “minced round herring fish soup” made in a large cauldron two meters in diameter. Local Kochi goods, such as “seared skipjack tuna”, and round herring sushi are also sold.

    • Usa Port Festival

(Held on the second Saturday of August)
The feature of this festival is its 2,500 fireworks launched very close to the venue. During the day, you can also enjoy events such as a fishing boat parade to pray for a bountiful catch, and the yosakoi naruko dance.

    • Otsuna Festival

(Held on the third Saturday of August)
A festival representative of Tosa City that began in the early Edo period (year 1603-1700). The biggest attraction is the “Nanboku Tug of War” that uses a 80m long rope weighing a ton. Anyone can take part in this event.
